How the PackOS partner program works: embed or link, and how commission will work
The PackOS partner program is in early access. This is the plain-language version — who it's for, the two ways to take part, how commission will work, and the rules and payout rails we've already set, stated up front so you know exactly what you're joining.
THE SHORT ANSWER
Partners send packaging buyers to PackOS — by embedding the quote widget or sharing a partner link — and, when payouts go live, earn on the quotes and orders those buyers generate. Payouts are not live yet, so this describes policy, not earnings. The parts that define the program:
- Two ways in — embed the quote widget where buyers already are, or share a tracked partner link
- Hybrid model — a bounty on a real qualified quote, plus rev-share on a resulting order
- Clear rules — 60-day last-touch attribution, so credit reflects real business, not raw clicks
- Two payout rails — get paid in fiat or USDC; link a payout account when you're ready to cash out
- Progressive trust — test the embed with nothing to set up; a quick check only when money first moves
Who the partner program is for
The partner program is for people and companies who already talk to packaging buyers: designers and studios, CPG and fulfillment newsletters, agencies and consultants with client sites, maker and e-commerce communities, and developers building tools where a packaging quote is a natural next step. If your audience ships product in a box, a pouch, or a label, they are the buyers this is built around.
What ties those groups together is intent. A reader who asks "where do I get this quoted?" is not a cold lead — they arrive with a file and a spec, ready to act, and the program rewards sending that person, not raw traffic. The program is in early access and payouts are not live yet, so you can join the early partner list, embed and test today, and lock in your standing before earnings begin.
The two ways to participate
There are two ways to take part, and you can use either or both. Both carry your partner key, so quotes and orders trace back to you:
- Embed the quote widget. Drop the PackOS upload component onto a page you control — a blog post, a resource page, a client site — and buyers can upload a file and start a quote without leaving. The widget is a thin client: it collects the file and your public partner key, then hands off to PackOS. Agencies can request a white-label variant.
- Share a partner link. If embedding is more than you need, share a tracked link in a newsletter, post, community, or proposal. A buyer who clicks through is attributed to you for the attribution window.
The embed converts better because the buyer acts in context, but a link is the fastest start. Either way, the heavy lifting — upload, detection, pricing, and attribution — stays on PackOS, which keeps the widget light enough to sit anywhere. See how it fits the platform on the integrations page.
How commission will work
When payouts go live, commission will follow a hybrid model: a bounty plus a rev-share. The bounty is a fixed reward for a qualified quote — a real file that passes detection, not a bare click. The rev-share is a percentage of a resulting order, so a bigger order is worth more. Both the bounty amount and the rev-share rate are published to partners at signup; this article does not quote figures, because nothing here should read as an earnings promise.
We reward a qualified quote rather than a click so credit tracks genuine intent. Clicks are easy to manufacture; a real file that passes detection signals a buyer who actually means it, so honest partners aren't diluted by anyone gaming click counts. The full definition is covered in what counts as a qualified quote.
The rules: attribution and fair credit
A partner program is only as fair as its rules, so we set ours up front. These are program policies, not projections:
- 60-day last-touch attribution. A buyer is credited to the most recent partner who referred them, within a 60-day window from the click or embedded quote.
- Commission reflects real business. Earnings settle after a short hold, and if an order is refunded the matching commission comes off with it. The finer settlement details live in the program terms you'll see at signup.
None of these are unusual for a serious referral program; stating them plainly is the point. The program also keeps the site's standing promise: no spam, and no surprise sales call. Referring a buyer sends them to a tool, not into pestering.
How partners get paid: fiat or USDC
Partners choose how they're paid. There are two rails:
- Fiat via Stripe Connect. Standard bank payouts through Stripe's payments infrastructure — familiar, and available in the regions Stripe supports.
- USDC. Prefer stablecoin? Get paid in USDC to a connected wallet — handy for global partners and for agents that earn on their own. A trusted payments provider settles it; PackOS never holds the funds.
Either way, the same qualified-event rules apply — choosing USDC doesn't change what counts or when it clears — and you link a payout account when you're ready to cash out. More detail in get paid in USDC.
Progressive trust: test before you verify
You shouldn't have to set anything up just to try something out, so the program uses progressive trust. Sign up, get a partner key, embed the widget, and watch test quotes attribute to you with nothing to configure. You only link a payout account — and confirm a few details — when money first moves at your first cash-out.
The same flow works for agents. An autonomous agent can register, embed, and earn entirely on its own — it's genuinely self-serve — and when there's a balance to withdraw, it pays out to a connected account (a bank via Stripe, or a USDC wallet). More on that in the USDC payout guide.
The thin-client trust boundary
The embed is deliberately thin, and that is a security feature, not a limitation. The widget you place on your page collects only two things — the buyer's file and your public partner key — then hands off to PackOS. The upload, the AI models that detect the spec, the pricing, and the attribution all run on PackOS, never in the partner's page or key.
That boundary lets you embed on a client site or public page without taking on the buyer's file or the model that reads it. Your key identifies you for attribution; it does not grant access to uploads. That is the whole trust story: the file and the intelligence stay on PackOS, and the credit comes back to you.
How to join the early partner list
Joining now means getting a partner key, embedding or linking, and testing the flow before payouts switch on. When earnings go live, the bounty and rev-share rates are published to you at signup. If you refer packaging buyers, or build tools for people who do, the partner program page is where to start; developers building agent or headless integrations should also see the developers page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the PackOS partner program live yet?
The program is in early access. You can join the early partner list, get a partner key, embed the quote widget or share a partner link, and test the flow today. Payouts are not live yet, so nothing here is an earnings promise — this describes the program's policies and rails so you know exactly what you're joining before it switches on.
How will partner commission be calculated?
Commission uses a hybrid model: a bounty on a real qualified quote plus a rev-share on a resulting order. The bounty rewards a real file that passes detection, not a bare click; the rev-share scales with the value of the order. Both the bounty amount and the rev-share rate are published to partners at signup rather than stated publicly here.
What are the attribution and payout rules?
Attribution is 60-day last-touch, so a buyer is credited to the most recent partner who referred them within 60 days. Commission reflects real business — it's reversed if the underlying order is refunded, so earnings track orders that actually stick. The finer settlement details are in the program terms you'll see at signup.
Can I get paid in crypto?
Yes. Partners can choose fiat via Stripe Connect or USDC to a connected wallet. A trusted payments provider settles the USDC and PackOS never holds the funds. The same qualified-event rules apply on either rail, and you link a payout account when you're ready to cash out.
Can an AI agent be a partner and get paid?
Yes. An agent can register, embed, and earn entirely on its own — it's genuinely self-serve and agent-native. When there's a balance to withdraw, earnings pay out to a connected account, either a bank via Stripe or a USDC wallet. Linking that payout account is the only step that isn't automatic.
