Recurring revenue for packaging consultants and agencies

PUBLISHED 21 JUL 2026 7 MIN READ BY

You already tell clients what to print, how to spec it, and where to source it. A partner embed lets that advice keep paying you after the engagement ends — one integration on a client site, attributed to you, without turning your studio into a reseller.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Embed the PackOS quote widget on a client's site — as a white-label variant with no rival logo — and packaging inquiries that already land there turn into instant quotes attributed to your partner key. The partner program is in early access; payouts are not live yet. Here is the shape of it, stated plainly:

  • One integration, ongoing value — a single embed on a client site keeps producing attributed quotes long after go-live
  • White-label option — the widget can run in your or your client's brand, so it reads as part of the site, not an ad
  • Complements consulting fees — it monetizes referral flow you already generate, without competing with your retainer
  • Trust boundary — files, AI models, and attribution stay on PackOS; the embed only collects a file and a public key and hands off
  • Early-access terms — you earn commission on real quotes and orders; exact rates are published to partners at signup

What recurring revenue means here

For a consultant or design agency, most income is project-shaped: scope a job, deliver it, invoice, start again. The relationship keeps generating value — clients re-order and launch new SKUs — but once the deliverables ship, that downstream activity flows past you. A partner embed captures a slice of it: when a client's packaging inquiry becomes an instant quote through a widget you placed, attributed to your partner key, the value keeps arriving from work you already did.

Two honest caveats first. The PackOS partner program is in early access, and payouts are not live yet — this describes how it will work, not a check you can cash today, and nothing here is an earnings claim. What follows are program policies we have set and the mechanics of the embed.

Partner embed — the PackOS quote widget placed on a site you control or advise, tagged with your public partner key, so quotes generated there are attributed to you. See the program overview on the partners page.

Why packaging advice converts into quotes

Packaging is unusually high-intent. When someone lands on a brand's "packaging" or "wholesale" page, they are rarely browsing — they have a product, a rough quantity, and a launch date. That is exactly the moment an instant quote is useful: it turns a vague intention into a spec and a price in one step, the same pipeline covered in how instant packaging quotes work.

For a partner, this changes the economics of a referral. A plain affiliate link asks a reader to click away and start over; an embedded quote tool lets them act where they already are, so the intent you created does not leak out. That is why the program rewards a qualified quote, not a bare click: the value is in the buyer reaching a real, priced spec.

Two ways to put the tool to work

There are two ways to participate, and agencies typically use both across different clients.

  • Embed the quote widget. Drop the PackOS upload component onto a client's site — a wholesale or "request packaging" page, a resource article. Visitors upload artwork or a die file and get an instant quote in place. The embed carries your public partner key, so quotes are attributed to you. This is the durable option: it lives on the page and keeps working.
  • Share a partner link. When you cannot touch a client's site — or you are writing a newsletter or a proposal — a tagged link to the hosted quote tool does the same attribution job without an integration.

Because the widget is a thin client, placing it does not make you responsible for hosting an app, storing files, or running pricing logic. You are adding a front door; the building behind it stays on PackOS — see the integrations page.

The objection most agencies raise first is branding: you do not want to plant another vendor's logo on a client site you were hired to make coherent. The partner embed has a white-label variant for exactly this. The widget can run in your client's brand — or your studio's — so the upload-to-quote experience reads as a native part of the site rather than a third-party ad, while attribution to your partner key happens quietly in the background.

This matters beyond aesthetics: it keeps the experience consistent with the site you designed, and removes the awkward conversation about why a competitor's mark is now on the client's page. The pricing engine, detection models, and quote all remain PackOS; only the skin is yours to control.

How commission will work

The model is hybrid: a bounty on a qualified quote, plus a rev-share on an order that results from it. We are deliberately not printing a bounty amount or a rev-share rate here — those are published to partners at signup, and we will not quote numbers we might revise before general availability. The important parts are simple:

  • You earn on real quotes, not clicks. Commission attaches to a genuine file that reaches a priced spec — quality, not bots. See what counts as a qualified quote.
  • Last-touch attribution. A qualified quote is credited to the most recent partner touch, over a generous window.
  • Cash out as fiat or USDC. When payouts go live you choose the rail; a few standard terms (a short hold, a small minimum) live in the program terms.

Choose fiat via Stripe Connect or USDC to a crypto wallet — the crypto rail is covered in crypto payouts for partners. You can embed and test right away; you just link a payout account when you're ready to cash out.

The trust boundary: what stays on PackOS

The reason an agency can place this on a client site without taking on risk is the trust boundary. The embed is intentionally thin: it collects two things — the visitor's file and your public partner key — and hands off to PackOS. Upload, AI detection models, pricing, and attribution all run on PackOS infrastructure, not on the client's page and not on yours.

That has three practical consequences. Your client's site is not storing customer artwork or acting as a data controller for it. The partner key is public by design — it identifies you, not authorizes anything sensitive — so exposing it in page source is not a leak. And because the models and priced quote never leave PackOS, your clients keep the "no spam, no surprise sales call" experience the platform promises.

How it complements consulting fees

A fair worry is cannibalization: does an instant-quote tool undercut the advisory work clients pay you for? In practice it sits alongside it. Your consulting value is judgment — structure choices, material trade-offs, brand systems, regulatory constraints — the parts an automated quote explicitly defers to a human. The embed monetizes the routine, high-volume moment that was never billable anyway: a visitor who wants a ballpark price on a recognizable spec. So the retainer covers the thinking, and the embed captures value from the traffic it attracts. For an agency running several client sites, that turns a portfolio of one-time builds into a set of small, attributed, ongoing streams — each one integration, no ongoing labor, additive to how you already bill.

How to join the early partner list

Getting in is low-commitment by design. Join the early partner list, get a partner key, and place the embed or a tagged link on a site you control or advise. You can integrate and test right away, and link a payout account whenever you're ready to cash out. Because the program is in early access, the exact commission rates, white-label options, and payout timing are shared with partners at signup and firmed up as we approach general availability. The fastest way to evaluate the fit is to put the tool on one page and watch how your existing traffic behaves.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put the quote tool on a client's site without a competitor's logo showing?

Yes. The partner embed has a white-label variant, so the quote widget can run in your client's brand or your studio's. The upload-to-quote experience reads as a native part of the site rather than a third-party ad, while the attribution to your partner key happens quietly in the background. The pricing engine and detection models stay on PackOS; only the visible skin is yours to control.

How much can an agency earn from the partner program?

We do not publish earnings figures, and this article makes no earnings claim. The program is in early access and payouts are not live yet. The model is hybrid — a bounty on a qualified quote plus a rev-share on a resulting order — and the exact rates are published to partners at signup. Commission is earned on real quotes and orders (quality, not bots), and last-touch attribution credits the most recent partner touch.

Does embedding the widget put customer files or data on my site?

No. The embed is a thin client: it collects the visitor's file and your public partner key, then hands off to PackOS. Upload, AI detection, pricing, and attribution all run on PackOS infrastructure, so the client's site is not storing artwork or acting as a data controller. The partner key is public by design — it identifies you and authorizes nothing sensitive.

Will an instant-quote tool cannibalize my consulting fees?

In practice it complements them. Your billable value is judgment — structure, materials, brand systems, and regulated claims — which an automated quote explicitly routes to a human. The embed monetizes the routine moment a visitor wants a ballpark price on a recognizable spec, which was never a billable task. The retainer covers the thinking; the embed captures value from the traffic that thinking attracts.

What do I need to set up before I can start?

Very little. Join the early partner list, get a partner key, and embed or link the quote tool — that's enough to start testing on a real page. You only link a payout account when you're ready to cash out, and you choose the rail then: fiat via Stripe Connect or USDC to a crypto wallet.
